Nuthatch Pumpkin Chai

Todays sampling is Birdsong Nuthatch Pumpkin Chai. There’s something about a steaming mug of chai that just feels like fall, and Birdsong Nuthatch Pumpkin Chai captures that feeling beautifully. This blend is made with organic black tea, cinnamon, ginger root, apple pieces, cardamom pods, cloves, cardamom seeds, and natural essences, and you can tell from the first whiff that it’s gonna be gooood. It’s cozy, lightly sweet, and spiced just right. Im not very familiar with the pumpkin spice profile but its delicious.

Another great chai blend from Birdsong Tea, making my cozy morning breakfast taste even better with Nuthatch Pumpkin Chai. I steeped the loose leaves for 4 minutes at 205°F, and it’s pure autumn comfort in a cup. Close eyes, breath deep, and inhale the warmth of a autumn brew.

This blend you can taste the pumpkin flavor and it doesn’t have that artificial taste. The warming spices round out this blend with a very subtle peppery note, nothing overwhelming each other. I will be trying this one again as a latte tomorrow.

The Nuthatch gets their name from their habit of moving headfirst down trees and putting a seed into the crevice of the tree and using their bills to hammer it open. Pretty smart little birds if you ask me!

Opening the package released a lovely fusion of autumn spices 🍁. I made a chai latte from the coppery-colored brew — a medium-bodied Assam base with gentle pumpkin notes, warm hints of cinnamon and cardamom, a mild zest of ginger, a touch of nuttiness, and the soft sweetness of apple pieces. It’s reminiscent of gingerbread and perfect for a cozy evening 🍵. I appreciated that the pumpkin flavor was was not overwhelming,. This tea struck a nice balance between spiciness and pumpkin.🫖

This is the perfect tea to welcome in cool, fall days.

I was able to try this one hot and hot with milk (with two heaping teaspoons in my infuser basket). Straight out of the pouch, we have another spiced-scent-stunner. Brewed hot, this is a very fall pie like chai—it’s nutty, creamy, and spiced perfectly. This is the perfect dessert tea (even without milk). I do get all of the flavors of a pie and the cinnamon really sweetens this one up. Once again, the black tea base is smooth and complements the spices really well. When I added milk, this turned into liquid pumpkin pie. For all of the pumpkin spice lovers out there, this one is for you! I also imagine this will be a winner as a stovetop chai.
